HC relief to bizman in Jagan Mohan Reddy case
Hyderabad: Justice Raja Elango of the Hyderabad High Court has granted relief to Shyam Prasad Reddy, chairman of Indu Group of Companies, by exempting him from personal appearance before the Special CBI court of the city in connection with Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy illegal investments case.
The CBI charged Mr Prasad Reddy as an accused in three cases with regard Lepakshi Knowledge Park, Indu Tech Zone and Housing Projects for getting undue benefits from the YSR government by investing into firms of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy as part of quid pro quo deal.
The CBI Court had ordered Mr Prasad Reddy to be present before it every Friday. K. Srinivasa Reddy, counsel appearing for the petitioner, told the HC that his client was unable to promote the company’s affairs abroad due to the trial court’s directions that he appears before it every Friday.
While adjourning the case for the response of the CBI, the judge granted interim orders, exempting personal appearance of the petitioner till further orders.
