Hyderabad: Minor gangraped; 2 cooks, another held
Hyderabad: Three people gang-raped and impregnated a 16-year-old girl in Bhavaninagar. Police said the trio raped her inside her house in November 2015 when her father and brother were away, and threatened her not to reveal it.
The scared girl remained silent for around three months. Her father came to know about the rape last week when doctors found out about her pregnancy after she was admitted in a hospital with stomach pain. Police arrested the trio, two cooks and a provision shop employee, on Monday.
The teenaged girl, whose mother passed away six years ago, was living with her father and brother. Her sister had got married and was living in her husband’s house.
Bhavaninagar police said that on November 11, the three suspects, Syed Abdul Hameed, 26, Sheik Younus, 26, and Mohammed Firdous Hussain, all from Talab Katta, entered the girl’s house and raped her.
“The girl’s brother had gone for work and her father was not at home. The trio had earlier tried to lure the girl in various ways. They raped her and left the place. She was reluctant to tell her father and brother,” said Bhavaninagar inspector B. Srinivasa Rao
The trio are residents of the neighbourhood. After the first rape, Abdul Hameed and Sheik Yunus raped her again next week. The incident came to light when her father lodged a complaint on March 9. “The girl developed stomach pain and was taken to hospital. The doctors told her father that she was pregnant.
The father asked the girl how it happened. She then told him what happened,” said the inspector. The girl was not able to reveal details about the suspects to the police due to trauma. Bhavaninagar police booked a case for rape and under Pocso.
The girl identified the suspects who were still living in the area. After their arrest they admitted that they had raped the minor girl. The victim was sent to hospital for medical examination.
