A police team rushed to the spot and found Jayaram lying dead in a pool of blood.

Bengaluru: A scuffle over a trivial row between two friends turned bloody when one of them hit the other with an iron rod in Amruthahalli police limits on Wednesday night.

Police have identified the deceased as Jayaram (45), a resident of Jakkur Layout, and working as a labourer. The accused, Shakeel, has been arrested. Preliminary investigation reveals that after finishing work, Jayaram had invited Shakeel to his house for a drink. While they were chatting Shakeel and Jayaram got into a verbal duel. An angry Shakeel grabbed a rod and hit Jayaram.

The blow was so hard that Jayaram collapsed on the spot. Shakeel escaped and the incident came to light when neighbours noticed blood stains in front of Jayaram’s house and informed the police. A police team rushed to the spot and found Jayaram lying dead in a pool of blood.

They later questioned neighbours, who reportedly told police that Shakeel had visited Jayaram and the duo had a verbal argument.
