Bengaluru: Five friends attack bar bouncer, arrested
Bengaluru: A group of five friends created ruckus in a bar and restaurant located on Lavelle Road and assaulted a bouncer with a beer mug on Saturday night.
The five were arrested by the Cubbon Park police and the incident happened in Margarita Lounge Bar.
The nasal bone of the bouncer, identified as Ashraf Pasha, got fractured in the incident, and he is undergoing treatment at a hospital. The accused have been identified as Sooraj, 25, an MBA student, Arjun, 19, an engineering student, Suraj, 23, all the three residents of Nagarabavi, Madhusudhan, 24, a contractor and a resident of Abbigere, and Keerthi, 24, a resident of Vijayanagar.
Police said that the five friends came to the bar around 7.30 pm and consumed alcohol for four hours. At 11.30 pm, they reportedly started taking loudly using filthy words and the bar staff reportedly asked them to leave. All the five picked up a quarrel with the staff and hurled filthy abuses at them and also tried to assault them.
Bouncer Pasha intervened and tried to push them out. “During the melee, Sooraj picked up a beer mug in the counter and banged it on Pasha’s face. As Pasha collapsed, all the five started kicking him. One of the staff informed the police about the incident. As the five tried to flee, the bar staff managed to overpower them and had locked them up in a room. The police rushed to the spot and took all the five youth to custody,” the police said.
“The incident is captured in the CCTV camera in the bar. All the five have been booked under section 326 and other sections of the IPC,” the police added.
The Cubbon Park police, who have registered a case in this regard, are further investigating.
