Kakinada: East Godavari police nabbed the burglar Yadla Naveen Prasad alias Reddy, 23, of Tanuku, who was involved in 18 cases of break-ins and recovered Rs. 23.80 lakh worth of 458gm of gold and 590 gm silver ornaments and Rs. 30,000 in cash and a scooter from him.
Superintendent of Police P. Jagadish told the reporters at Rajamahendravaram on Monday that the accused used to steal valuables from locked houses at night after conducting a recce in the daytime.
Six cases were filed against him under Undrajavaram police station limits, 4 cases in Amalapuram Town, 3 cases in Tanuku, 2 each in Tanuku Rural and Amalapuram Rural and 1 case in Kovvur, said the SP.
He said that the offender committed property offences in three districts -- Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema, East and West Godavari Districts.
He appreciated Undrajavaram sub-inspector K. Rama Rao and other police personnel of various police stations for arresting the offender. Undrajavaram police registered a case.
