Hyderabad: A 36-year-old construction worker was arrested by Cyberabad Police at Petbasheerabad for sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl on Sunday.
The arrested, Pinisetti Subba Rao is a native of East Godavari district and is a resident of Vennalagadda village in Qutbullapur mandal, the police said.
On Sunday evening, when the girl was playing outside her house, Subba Rao lured her with a chips packet and took her to his residence where he sexually assaulted her.
After coming out of the house, the victim informed her parents about the assault.
Based on a complaint by her parents, a case of sexual harassment was registered against Subba Rao and he was booked under relevant Sections of the IPC.
He was arrested on Monday and produced before the court and sent to judicial remand. The girl was also sent for medical examination.
