The arrest was done based on a complaint by the victim's family.
Anwar Karakkadan, the district coordinator of the Childline, said around 80 percent of the child abuse cases here had a connection with drug and sexual abuses.
Hyderabad: A 31-year-old man was arrested for child abuse by Rein Bazar police on Monday.
The victim was a relative of the accused, said the police. The arrested accused was identified as Mohd Waseem, a cook from Aman Nagar in Yakutpura.
“We arrested Waseem for abusing a 10-year-old relative and booked him under relevant Sections of the IPC” said the Rein Bazar police, adding that he outraged her modesty and misbehaved with the minor girl.
The arrest was done based on a complaint by the victim’s family. Waseem was booked under Section 354 (criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC and sent him to judicial remand.
