Hyderabad: 2 habitual offenders held again
Hyderabad: The Chilkalguda police have arrested two men for property offences and recovered gold and silver ornaments from their possession on Saturday.
The arrested duo was identified as Satish Kumar Naidu, 44, Khaja Sultan, 50, police said. They added that the seized property included a mobile phone, gold and silver ornaments.
“Satish Kumar, a habitual offender, was first arrested when he was a minor in 1995, by Musheerabad police and was then apprehended several times by the police of Gopalapuram, Monda Market, Chilkalguda, Lalaguda, Begumpet, Kamathipura and Sultan Bazaar for house breaking property offences,” Gopalapuram ACP, K. Srinivasa Rao said.
“After being released from Chanchalguda Jail in August 2017, he again began committing thefts and was involved in four offences, following which he was again arrested and jailed by Gopalapuram police in March this year,” Gopalapuram ACP said.
He was released on October 1 and four days later, he broke into a railway quarter and fled with the now recovered ornaments. He was seen near Secunderabad Railway Station and Chilkalguda police took him in for questioning. The stolen goods were found in his possession. “We have also arrested Sultan, to whom he sold the loot and sent them both to judicial remand,” the ACP added.
