Mumbai: A 70-year-old paan vendor was arrested on Tuesday for molesting a seven-year-old schoolgirl on the terrace of her residence in Malad.
The incident happened at around 6 pm on Tuesday when the victim was playing on the terrace. The accused, identified as Siddhanand Chaurasia, used to go on the terrace every afternoon for a midday sleep.
He allegedly molested the girl on the terrace after which she complained to her mother.
An official said that Chaurasia will be in police custody till October 14. The accused has been living in Mumbai for past 35 years.
