250 students duped by job fraudsters

Each student paid Rs 90,000 as course fee

As many as 250 students who were hoping to land jobs in the aviation industry after receiving training at a private aviation academy in the city found their dreams grounded when it was found that the institution was not recognised to offer such education.

According to Malakpet inspector K.V. Subba Rao, the students joined Fortune Flyers Aviation Academy at Moosarambagh, Malakpet, as it had promised 100 per cent job placement. Each student paid Rs 90,000 as course fee, he said.

The fakery indulged in by the institute came to light when the students attended job interviews on Friday and were told that Fortune Flyers Aviation Academy was not registered and did not have any recognition from certifying agencies. This rendered the certificates they were issued upon completion of their courses useless, the police officer said.

When the trainees went to question the institution, they found it closed with a ‘to-let’ sign hanging on the building gate. “A case has been registered and we are investigating,” Subba Rao said.
