Tamil Nadu : Main accused arrested in rape case of minor
Chennai: A week after the mother of a 15-year-old girl approached the city police commissioner’s office seeking action against persons who allegedly forced her minor daughter into flesh trade in the pretext of getting her a job, police busted a racket by arresting the main accused, Suresh and his two woman accomplices.
Suresh, an ambulance driver, his friend, Chitra and Kotteswari were arrested from Arani in Tiruvannamalai district on Tuesday.
Police had also earlier detained a government hospital doctor, Dr Jayaprakash, in connection with the case for investigations.
On September 7, A. Rani of Koyambedu approached the police seeking action against perpetrators who forced her daughter into sex trade. Rani, a widow lived with her two daughters in Koyambedu and was working as housekeeping staff at a private bank.
Few months ago, one of the accused, Chitra had approached her and told that she would help her by getting her elder daughter a job.
The girl was taken to Arani in Tiruvannamalai district where she was provided job as a sales girl in a textile shop. She was provided accommodation at Chitra’s house. Chitra’s husband is a truck driver and is not home most of the days.
Making use of this opportunity, Chitra invited her friend, Suresh who had allegedly raped the teenager and later forced her into flesh trade.
The girl, with the help of a friend, managed to escape from Arani and came to her mother a few days ago.
