Chennai: A 20-year old woman from Assam died due to shock after she slipped and fell in the gap between the railway platform and train at Ennore on Wednesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Momin. She was traveling with a group of five persons in the Chennai - Santragachi Express, police said. Around 4 pm, when the train halted at Ennore, Momin along with her group got down the reserved compartment to get into the unreserved compartment when she slipped and fell in the gap between the platform and the train.
Police sources said that the woman was rescued by fellow passengers and was moved to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead. Police said that the woman died due to shock caused by the fall. Her body was shifted to the Government Stanley Hospital for post mortem.
