Bengaluru: Cheating case filed against astrologer
Bengaluru: A complaint of cheating was filed against six people, including a well known astrologer Chandrashekhar Bhat popularly known as Chandrashekar Swamiji, at the High Grounds police station on Wednesday.
The complaint was filed by the GM of Bangalore Palace, Pandian, against Ashraf Ali, Madhu Acharya, Abdul Rahman P.B., Rajani C. Bhat (wife of Chandrashekar Bhat) and Girish Kamath.
The complainant has alleged that the accused had in February 2014 met Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, wife of Srikantadatta Narsimharaja Wadiyar, with forged signature of Mr Wadiyar in the documents for approval for the advertisement contract to be put up on the palace premises and claimed that they had paid '7.5 crore to Mr Wadiyar. Mr Pandian has alleged that the accused had illegally entered the palace property and misused it by erecting boards after forging the signature of Mr Wadiyar.
The High Grounds police have registered the case and are investigating.
Bhat is among the most sought after astrologers in the city. The sleuths of the Income Tax Department had searched his premises and recovered documents that revealed undisclosed income in 2013.
