A 40-year-old teacher of a government primary school in Bakori area here was today arrested on charges of raping three of his minor girl students.
Coimbatore: A 27-year-old man in Tamil Nadu was on Wednesday arrested on the charge of attempting to sexually assault an eight-year-old girl.
Ravikantha, a native of Odhisha and employed in a textile mill in Coimbatore, had taken the girl to a lonely place in Somanur on the city outskirts on Tuesday evening and attempted to sexually assault her.
The girl's father saw her coming home with torn clothes and crying.
Based on a complaint, the All Woman Police Station in Thudiyalur arrested Ravikantha. He was produced before a court which remanded him into judicial custody, police said.
