Hyderabad: Two Hyderabadi youth whom the National Investigation Agency arrested for allegedly trying to revive ISIS module were produced before a Delhi court on Monday and the court remanded them to custody for 11 days.

Abdul Basith, 24 and Mohd Abdul Qadeer, 19, were arrested by the agency after a week-long questioning after the NIA got information about them being in contact with Adnan Hassan.

The man, Hasan, along with two others, was arrested in 2016 in ISIS Abu Dhabi module case for recruiting and training Indian Muslim youth to carry out activities in support of ISIS. Adnan Hassan is facing trial in the case.

While Basith is an engineering dropout, the other, Abdul Qadeer, studied SSC and failed in two subjects. The duo were served summons last Monday to appear before the officials after searches were conducted at their houses. On Sunday the agency arrested them after evidence of their involvement came forth against them.

NIA conducted searches at seven places on August 6 in the city. They sent the incriminating material to CFSL Hyderabad for analysis and data extraction.

The agency told the court that the duo was trying to attract other youngsters into the ISIS module and start a new module in the city. In the last few months Basith and Abdul Qadeer were regularly in touch with Adnan Hasan over phone and social media platforms. In fact, sources said that they had even met during early this year in the city.
