Hyderabad: Railway ex-cop kills wife, surrenders
Hyderabad: A retired reserve sub-inspector killed his wife after arguments over the utilisation of retirement money at Raghavendra Colony in Kondapur late on Sunday.
According to the Gachibowli police, P. Seetha Ramanjaneyulu Reddy, 61, retired as a reserve sub-inspector from the Railways two months ago. Reddy, along with his wife Lakshmi Anila, moved to the city from Eluru to live with their son, Shiva Manohar Reddy, a software engineer, and daughter-in-law, Gauthami.
Two days ago, his son and daughter-in-law went to Kakinada to attend to some work, while Reddy and his wife stayed back at the home.
On Sunday night, Reddy and Lakshmi had an argument over misuse of Rs 1 lakh from the money he received after retirement and she suspected him to have given it to his paramour. As the arguments heated up, Reddy picked up a knife and stabbed his wife. After killing her, Reddy surrendered before the Gachibowli police confessing to having killed Lakshmi.
