Bengaluru: One dies in fight over blankets!
BENGALURU: A scuffle between co-workers over a financial row ended in the murder of a 21-year-old youth at Kamakshipalya police station limits on Sunday night. His cousin also sustained serious injuries. The deceased, Avinash, was a resident of Peenya. His cousin, Satish, 28, who sustained stab injuries, is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Avinash hailed from Kunigal in Tumakuru and had come to the city to work after dropping out of a diploma course. The two were working at a juice shop and were staying in a room with other workers in Srinivasanagar on Magadi Road. The accused have been identified as Rajesh, Abhi and Punith, who are absconding. Rajesh, the owner of the juice shop, had put up all his workers at a house.
On Sunday night, the employees returned to the house after work at a juice shop in Sunkadakatte. Avinash and Satish had gone out for a walk and when they returned to their room, Punith and Abhi who were already sleeping refused to share the blankets with the two. This led to a quarrel and in a fit of rage, they stabbed the two with a knife and fled from the spot. Hearing the ruckus, the came to the house, found the two injured and rushed them to a hospital, where Avinash was declared brought dead.
The police said that Satish is out of danger. An initial probe revealed that Avinash and the accused often fought over financial issues and on Sunday too, they had fought over it before returning to their room. A few days ago, the accused had threatened to kill Avinash and had also purchased the weapons. The Kamakshipalya police have sent the body for postmortem and are on hunt for the accused.
