Hyderabad: Guard booked for stalking
Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police, with the help of ‘She for her’, student member of SHE TEAM, arrested a 40 year old engineering college security guard for harassing the hostel inmates via abusive messages over an year on Sunday.
The accused, Ramavatar Yadav, 40, native of Bihar, was working as a security guard at Dhruva Engineering college in Tukaram Pet. “The girls hostel at LB Nagar had 50 girls out of which 10-15 of them were receiving abusive messages from a single unknown number. These girls were being stalked over phone.
Though this was happening for the last one year, no girl has tried to complain or tried to get a solution for this. Girls out of fear blocked the number on their mobile phone but they started receiving messages from an other number” said the Police.
The matter was brought to Rachakonda Police official’s notice who then booked a case under section 354(D) (Stalking) and 507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) of IPC and started investigation. The officials arrested the acciused on Sunday and sent him for judicial remand.
