Case registered for ill treating buffaloes

Police officials stated that they would conduct an investigation with the photographic evidence procured.

Hyderabad: A case has been registered under Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act by the Compassionate Society for Animals (CSA) against a dairy farm in Ghatkesar mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

The society’s volunteers were passing by the Mallikarjuna dairy farm on July 7 when they saw a buffalo tied to an iron rod with its neck pulled upwards, leaving no room for it to move.

On closer inspection, the volunteers found that all cattle in the farm were beaten mercilessly and were tied to a short leash, restricting their movements. The calves were also separated from their mothers and tied to short leashes.

CSA founder N.S. Pravallika said, “When we inquired about the farm with nearby residents, they stated that its owner would always beat the cattle, especially if the milk received for the day was low.”
