Telangana: Woman says implicated, attempts suicide

Onlookers rescued her and alerted police and she was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old woman from Karimnagar district attempted suicide by slitting her wrist with a blade, alleging that the police had falsely implicated her in an immoral trafficking case. Onlookers rescued her and alerted police and she was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. An attempt to suicide case is registered against her.

Dishya was caught by Rachakonda SOT police from a flat in Medipally area and was handed over to Uppal police, who, after producing her before the court, shifted her to a rescue home in Uppal.

She was later released from the home. On Thursday she came to meet her elder sister in Madhuban colony under Mailardevpally police station limits.

When she went home, her sister did not allow her in, which upset her. She came out on the road and slit her wrist with a blade. Onlookers stopped her and alerted police, who rushed to the spot and shifted her to hospital, where she is said to be out of danger.

“I am a dancer and was practicing dance when I was caught by police. They did not listen to what I said and produced me before the court. As a result my family has thrown me out and my future is lost. Even my marriage scheduled for next month has been cancelled.” said the woman.

However, police said she was caught red handed and all the evidences were produced before the court.
