Telangana: Raids on official nets Rs 10 crore assets

The assets seized included real estate and agricultural properties.

Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths on Thursday raided the properties of an inspector of factories and unearthed properties they estimated at over Rs 10 crore. Mukkamula Venkanna, deputy chief inspector of factories, Ranga Reddy district, has been arrested and will be produced before court.

ACB officials said the raids were conducted on his residence and that of his relatives in Hyderabad, Suryapet and Nizamabad towns. The assets seized included real estate and agricultural properties he had bought across the state in his own name and that of his family members.

These included a multi-storeyed building spread over 9,000 sft in Madina-guda, four plots in an 800 square yard area in Ghatkesar, one plot of 200 square yards in Saroornagar, plots spread over 1,430 square yards in Suryapet district and at Turkayamjal village.

ACB officials also found documents related to residential plots in Nizamabad and agricultural lands in several villages. Sleuths seized gold jewelry worth over Rs 6 lakh, silver articles worth Rs 1.25 lakh, Rs 2.74 lakh in cash and Rs 3.3 lakh in bank balances.
