Telangana: Army, Navy wives protest at MLA's house
Hyderabad: Army and naval personnel’s wives staged a protest outside Jangaon MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy on Thursday for duping them on the pretext of selling plots.
The MLA had sold them 120 plots in a land at Ammuguda, Sainikpuri 15 years ago, claiming that the land layout was approved by HUDA. However, when the buyers went ahead to get permissions to build a house on their purchased plots, they were told by the municipal officials that there is a court case on the said land and no permission was given.
“We are the wives of the Army and Navy personnel who fight for the county in the borders and we demand justice to be done to us,” a protester said. “Mr Yadagiri Reddy has been dodging our queries and has been avoiding us, whenever we approach him. We get to hear excuses and are asked to wait for a couple of weeks or months and it has been almost 15 years ever since," said another Osmania University police arrived at the spot and controlled the situation. protester.
Sources close to the MLA said the said land in Ammuguda has been purchased by them from an owner, who had sold to one Amarender Reddy, a real estate agent.
"The land is clearly vacant till date and the MLA will take the necessary actions required," the source added.
"Amarender Reddy obtained the agreement of the land back then and has kept mum for about 2 years, during which we worked on the roads, drainage and electricity of the land. He purposely filed a case against us after we sold the plots to the people," said the source.
