Kerala: Trio held for stabbing bike rider
Kochi: The Palarivattom Police on Thursday arrested three persons for stabbing and injuring a bike rider out of road rage. The accused were identified as Milan (20), a resident of Uzhunnumkattil House, near MAJ Hospital, Edapally, Sreenesh (32), a resident of Palakkaparambu House, Cheranellor, and Faisal (24), of Valiyapadam House, Marottachuvadu, Vazhakala.
According to cops, the incident happened on July 11. “The trio was travelling in an autorickshaw. When they reached Oberon Mall side, they tried to overtake the victim, who was travelling in a bike. However, they couldn’t do so in the first attempt. The irate accused then intercepted the bike traveler and indulged in a verbal fight with him. Soon they attacked him with a knife and stabbed him,” police said.
An attempt to murder case (IPC section 307) was taken against the trio based on the complaint filed by the victim. However, the three went into hiding. “We arrested them from Cheranellor side while acting on a tip-off. They were held after intercepting the auto. Upon inspecting the vehicle, we seized ganja,” police said. The trio already face charges for offenses such as theft and pick-pocketing at other stations. They were produced before a local court which remanded them in judicial custody.
