Chain snatching: Two members of Iranian gang held, 15 cases solved

With their arrest, police claim to have solved 15 cases of chain snatching reported in different parts of the city.

Bengaluru: Two members of an inter-state Iranian gang, involved in chain snatchings using a stolen bike, have been arrested by the Jalahalli police. The police have recovered 502 gm gold ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh from them.

The arrested have been identified as Shahenshah (28) and Mohammed (32), both residents of Dharwad. The police said the duo had lifted a bike which they used to commit crimes by using fake number plates, which they used to change frequently.

According to police, the duo confessed that they were involved in various crimes in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and various cities in Karnataka. The police are further investigating.

With their arrest, police claim to have solved 15 cases of chain snatching reported in different parts of the city. A case has been registered against the duo and further investigations are underway.
