HSR Layout resident slapped for asking man to remove car

Swalpa car thegithira?' led to altercation.

Bengaluru: “Sir, swalpa car thegithira?” (Sir, will you please remove your car?) When Ram.V (name changed), a resident of HSR Layout, made this request, the last thing he expected was to be slapped many times in return! Face-to-face with an unruly stranger just in front of his house, Mr Ram was too shocked to react, even before he realized what was happening.

The high voltage drama began in the Second Sector of HSR Layout on June 2, when a ‘guest’ attending a wedding in Siddhartha Convention Centre in HSR Layout, parked his car in front of Mr Ram’s house.

On noticing that the guest’s car (KA 51 MG 5048), a white Verna, was blocking the gates of his house, Mr Ram decided to call the convention centre’s security guard to get the car removed. And just when Ram thought the ‘guest’ had arrived to remove his car, came the shocker. He walked straight to Ram and slapped him.

In a complaint to the HSR Layout police, Ram explains, “I waited for nearly 45 minutes after I informed the security guard to get the car removed. The owner of the car arrived and walked up to me, abusing me. He went on to say it was his wish where he parked his vehicle and he could park the car anywhere he liked. I was still inside my house and only told him, his car was blocking my way.”

Hearing Ram speak, the ‘guest’ asked Ram to come down to the gate. Assuming he needed some help, Ram went out. He was immediately slapped and abused.
The complainant, said, “The owner of the car was accompanied by a man and they both started slapping me before beating me up. They went on to threaten that they would even injure my family members, if we disturbed them further. I called the Hoysala police. But before they reached, the thugs fled.”

HSR Layout police station said that they had tracked the car owner’s residential address and a team of police was sent to the registered address. However, the house was locked and the neighbours informed them that the family was on a holiday. “We have registered a case and are looking into the matter. Police will be sent again to the house and the car owner will be questioned,” the police inspector said.
