Hyderabad: Rs 1-crore drugs seized from 5
Hyderabad: Five persons from Andhra Pradesh were apprehended by the Rachakonda Special Operations Team (Malkajgiri zone) sleuths with contraband worth Rs 1 crore. The accused persons were carrying cocaine, heroin and other chemicals.
On March 9, when the Rachakonda police, while checking vehicles, stopped a car in which three persons were travelling at Karmanghat in Saroornagar. Two of them jumped from the car (AP31 TV 6815) escaped while the one, behind the wheels, identified as Kanakaraju, 34, of Vishakhapatnam was held with 15 gm of cocaine, 15 gm of heroin and 30 gm of the unidentified chemical in his possession.
During questioning, he confessed that he and his aides, M. Omkar, 27, and N. Rajashekar, 27, of Nellore in AP were on their way to the city from Nellore to sell the contraband. The duo escaped at the checking but were later arrested by the Special Operations Team sleuths. G Chakradhar, 48, and Shaik Abed, 48, were also apprehended. Around 325 gm of cocaine, 575 gm of heroin and 600 gm of chemical powder was seized.
