Hyderabad: A 37-year-old man was stabbed to death in full public view at First Lancer in Humayun Nagar on Monday evening by his wife's relatives. The killers chased the victim, Ateeq Qureshi, and stabbed him inside a hair cutting shop while people were watching.
Police suspect that Ateeq offended his wife's kin as he had ignored his three kids after his wife's death. “Ateeq’s wife passed away five years ago. His three kids were staying with his wife’s relatives. Atheeq had gone to Maharashtra and other parts of the country ignoring his kids. When he came back, a dispute arose between him and his wife’s kin,” said a police official from Humayun Nagar police station.
On Monday, Ateeq picked up a quarrel and which his brother-in-law and others attacked him. "Ateeq tried to escape the attack by running away. But the killers followed and stabbed him when he got inside the shop," said a police officer.
