Bengaluru: Peddler hides ganja in gas cylinders, caught

The police are trying to find out where the cylinders were modified and sold.

BENGALURU: The Ramamurthy Nagar police stumbled upon a peddler, who was selling ganja by hiding it in gas cylinders behind the K.R. Puram railway station on Monday evening.

The accused, Gulabjan alias Gulabi, 40, is a resident of Vijinapura, Ramamurthy Nagar.

After receiving a tipoff, the police went near the railway station and caught Gulabi trying to sell marijuana hidden in two LPG cylinders. The police are trying to find out where the cylinders were modified and sold.

“This is the first time that we have encountered such a case. This might have been happening from many days, but has come to light only now,” a police officer said.

The Ramamurthy Nagar police have registered a case and seized 3.350 kg of ganja with the two cylinders and an auto in which he was carrying the cylinders.
