Hyderabad: A 32-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the building due to depression under Chaderghat police station limits on Monday morning.
The woman was identified as Harshitha, 32, a resident of Akbarbagh under the Chaderghat police station limits.
According to the police the woman was suffering from mental depression since 2014. On Monday afternoon she committed suicide by leaping from the fifth floor of Sri Sai Apartment.
Chaderghat inspector of police, G. Nagaraju said, “She returned from the USA with her husband, a software employee, two months ago and is survived by a 3-year-old son. The woman had attempted suicide in the morning too, but her relatives stopped her.
However, in the afternoon, she managed to get past the domestic help and ran to the terrace, from where she jumped.”
The Chaderghat police has registered a suspicious death case and an investigation is underway.
