Hyderabad: Accused at large, cops still clueless
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police, which is investigating the bid on realtor Mustafa at Mailardevpally, is yet to figure out the motive behind the firing, which left the realtor injured and the suspect Zubair Hussain giving a slip to the police. Meanwhile, the bullet removed from Mustafa’s body has been sent for analysis. It seems that the bullet was fired from a .32mm pistol. The police is verifying whether the incident took place at Zubair’s office or in his car. During investigation, it was revealed that Zubair was in possession of a gun, whose licence was cleared by the South Zone police.
A raid at Zubair’s office in Royal Co-ony did not yield results and he is reported to be still at large, leaving the police clueless. The police has grilled Zubair’s you-nger brother, Nazeer. The family is backing Zubair, and said that duo was friends and the incident occurred due to a misfire by Mustafa. The police said that Zubair along with his friends drove Mustafa to Virinchi Hospital at Banjara Hills in his white Mercedes.
The CCTV footage at the hospital sho-wed two persons accompanying Mustafa and Zubair in the car and they were joined by two persons after they reached the hospital. Though the hospital staff offered Mustafa a stretcher, he preferred to walk with the help of his friends. After Mustafa walked in, Zubair and his friends were seen driving away.
“Mustafa’s last mobile location was traced to Gachibowli on Saturday morning. After that, the phone is in a switched-off mode. We suspect he took ORR and moved out of the city,” said an official. It was also learnt that Zubair’s father, Shahnawaz Hussain, is seeking an anticipatory bail for his son. The police said that they are collecting evidence to oppose the bail plea. “Mustafa is tight-lipped about the incident and Zubair is missing. They can reveal the motive and where and how the firing happened,” said Mr P. Ashok, ACP, Rajendranagar.
