Telangana: Fake pharma firm busted, Rs 5 crore goods seized
Hyderabad: The special operations team of Rachakonda on Thursday busted a fake pharma manufacturing unit in Chaitanyapuri and seized huge quantities of drugs.
According to the police, the owner of the unit, Ramakrishna, had the licence to distribute drugs manufactured by other companies. However, he recently started a manufacturing unit. Most of the products he manufactured were meant for pregnant women and children.
The police seized huge quantities of tablets, tonics, milk powder, protein supplements and other products used by pregnant women and children.
Mr P. Venkateshwarlu, inspector of the special operations team, said that goods worth over Rs 5 crore have been seized. The drug control administration has been informed. Hunt is on to nab the partner, Rajender Reddy.
