Ganja peddling gang busted, 6 arrested

The gang was transporting the contraband from Andhra Pradesh to Maharashtra via Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda police on Monday arrested a six-member inter-state gang, including a repeat offender, and seized 3.6 quintals of ganja and vehicles used for transportation from them. The gang was transporting the contraband from Andhra Pradesh to Maharashtra via Hyderabad, said Rachakonda commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat.

While the main accused in the case Kanumareddy Pavan Kumar was promised Rs 2 lakh per consignment to deliver the contraband to the clients on the outskirts of Hyderabad in addition to the vehicle hire charges and travel expenditures, he promised up to Rs 25,000 and other expenses to his associates, said Bhagwat.
