Hyderabad: Rachakonda police arrested a 60-year-old labourer for attempting to sexually assault a nine-year-old girl at Old Kapra. The suspect was identified as D. Siddaiah.
Police said the suspect, who is the victim’s neighbour, lured her with a toffee and took her to his home, when his wife was away. He then asked her to remove her clothes and attempted to rape her. But the girl escaped from him, ran home and informed her grandmother and told about what had happened.
He was caught by the public, tied to a pole and beaten up. Later, Cops rushed to the spot and detained him. A case of rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act was registered.
