Hyderabad: Two persons were killed in an accident on NH 44 in Jogulamba Gadwala district on Saturday. The mishap occurred when the pickup van in which they were travelling hit a parked truck. Three others were injured in the accident. The deceased are G Hanumanthu, 55, and Yesuratnam, 40.
Police said Hanumanthu was a contract driver for the vehicle owned by a leading newspaper of Hyderabad. He transports newspaper bundles to Mahbubnagar and Jogulamba Gadwala districts.
Early on Saturday he started with the newspaper. At Aramgarh four persons got into the vehicle. When the vehicle reached Beechupally Hanumanthu, did not see a parked truck and hit it. Hanumanthu and passenger Yesuratnam were killed on the spot. Three other passengers were injured and are out of danger. Police said that the driver of the truck van did not take precautions when he parked the vehicle on NH. An accidental death case was registered.
