NELLORE: In a revenge murder, a man killed a person who had allegedly raped and murdered his wife in 2015, in Basireddy Gari Palle of Peleru in Chittoor district on Friday. Police said Rajendra Naik along with two other relatives murdered Reddynaik who came to the village with his family after two years. Reddynaik had raped and killed the wife of Rajendra Naik in 2015. He was jailed for a year and came out on bail in 2016. Afraid of the consequences, went away to stay with his in-laws.
He attended a court hearing of his case on Thursday and told the judge about the threat to his life. The court directed him to meet the police. Reddynaik met Peleru circle inspector Nagaraju and told him about the threat. The police officer advised him not to go to the village until he spoke to Rajendra Naik. Unmindful of this, Reddynaik went to Basireddy Gari Palle on Saturday. Rajendra Naik on learning of his arrival attacked him and beat him to death. Mr Nagaraju said that Rajendra Naik and his two relatives were absconding. “We have the information and will trace them soon.”
