Bengaluru: Old notes worth Rs 3.2 crore seized
A police team was on a routine check of vehicles at Srinivagilu Signal on Friday night.
BENGALURU: The Viveknagar police arrested four people, who were found in possession of demonetised currency worth Rs 3.2 crore. The arrested persons have been identified as Atheeq, Ayub, Amjad and Azeem, while two others, Saurabh Jain and Mahesh, managed to escape.
A police team was on a routine check of vehicles at Srinivagilu Signal on Friday night. They stopped an Omni van and when checked, they found bags of demonetised currency. While two people escaped, the police arrested four others. It is said that the money belonged to Saurabh Jain, who hails from Kolkata, and the accused were trying to exchange the currency with valid tender.
