ADILABAD: The wife of Rebbena SI, Bhavanisen, attempted suicide on Tuesday by consuming a sanitizer after allegations were raised that her husband sexually exploited a girl in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.
The girl was preparing for the police constable job and the SI allegedly invited her to the police station a few days ago.
She first released a video about the SI’s actions and another video in which she alleged that the SI asked her to come to his office. She said she would however withdraw the complaint to save her from future problems.
In a third video clip, she said the SI allegedly asked her to come to the police station to collect some useful material for her preparations and promised her all help to get the job.
The girl said she resisted when the SI sexually harassed her and subsequently lodged a complaint with the SP.
Komaram Bheem Asifabad SP Suresh Kumar immediately attached Bhavanisen to the Ramagundam police commissionerate and ordered a probe.
A divisional-level police officer said, “We will inform the media as to what exactly happened, but only after a detailed inquiry.”
