Warangal: Following the death of two youths at the scenic Bogatha Waterfall in Chikupalle of Vajedu mandal in Jayashankar Bhupalapalli district, the forest department closed swimming for tourists.
District forest officer T. Ravi Kiran said they would take a call regarding the security at Bogatha Waterfall soon. “We cannot afford to see increase of the death toll at the tourist spot. Since we are busy with the arrangements for the Haritha Haram programme, we have decided to close swimming temporarily. We will take up safety measures soon and ensure the safety of the tourists. We have already placed fencing to stop tourists from climbing to the top of the waterfall,” he said.
We also request the tourists to cooperate with us for their own safety. We will mark all the danger zones and make them inaccessible to the public.
