Hyderabad: Even after a week of filing a missing report, the parents of the Class X student Poornima Sai have no clue about the whereabouts of their daughter. The Hyderabad police has sent out 14 teams to various parts of the state to trace the missing girl. Additional communication has been posted to Vizag, Yanam and Shirdi, the three places that have a connect to the girl.

Recently the family had travelled to Vizag and Yanam for a holiday and so enthralled was Poornima Sai with the places that she had expressed her desire to come back and live there. The family is also devout followers of Shirdi Sai Baba and the police don’t rule out the possibility of her going to Shirdi.

On June 7, Poornima had left home for school-Bhashyam school in Nizampet. When she did not return home till late evening, a missing complaint case was filed at the Bachupally police station.

The cops are examining every angle that could be related to the case, prime amongst them, is checking her footprints on social media. When officers met the girl’s parents and spoke to them and to the neighbours and teachers at Bhashyam school, they found that she had a Facebook as well as an Instagram account and was very active on both.

But a few days before she went missing, she had deactivated both the accounts. Poornima was using her mother’s smart phone and had locked it with a pattern code. When the cops broke the code and accessed her WhattsApp, it was found that she had deleted history.

“We are in the process of getting a backup of recent WhatsApp conversations and browsing history on the mobile. Efforts are on to access her social media accounts as well. This may provide some leads we hope,” said Kukatpally ACP N. Bhujanga Rao. Meanwhile her father's friends have also tweeted to IT Minister KT Ramarao seeking help to trace the missing child.
