Hyderabad: The police launched a special drive against gaming houses and arrested five persons in Chandrayanagutta police station limits, seven from Bahadurpura police station limits and five from Rein Bazaar police station limits.
The arrested men from Bahadurpura police Station limits are Mohd Javed, Shaik Saleem, Mohd Sajid, Mohd Abbas, Mohd Habeeb, Mohd Mosen and Mohd Sikander. The police seized Rs 12,000 from them. The suspects nabbed from Rein Bazaar are Mohd Naser, Dastagiri, Mohd Saber, Mohd Jaweed, Rahim and Fayaz Ali and the recovered money is estimated at around Rs15,000.
The raids were conducted by Task Force teams based on tip offs. The arrested men were booked under IPC and Gaming Acts and were remanded to custody.
Eight persons were arrested for playing cards at Shahinnagar by Balapur police on Monday. Police seized Rs 8,380 and seven cellphones from them. The arrests were made based on a tip off from a reliable source. The men were booked under IPC sections and the Gaming Acts.
