Hyderabad: A 45-year-old drunk chef allegedly attacked a GHMC woman staffer in Madannapet on Sunday. Police said that while the workers were cleaning the road, Saleem fell on them and when told to move aside, he attacked a woman staffer.
Police said the GHMC staffer Padma was cleaning the road at Madannapet on Sunday. Meanwhile, Mohammed Saleem, 45, came that way. Saleem, who earlier had an autorickshaw, is now working as a chef, cooking at functions.
He was heavily drunk, fell against Padma and she shouted at him. “He slapped her and tried to attack her. She fell down and suffered minor injuries,” SI Govind Swamy said. GHMC workers caught Saleem and handed him over to the police.
When police tried to check his blood alcohol he did not cooperate. Doctors certified that he was drunk. Padma was discharged after treatment.
A case for causing injuries and under the City Police act was registered.
