Hyderabad: SI found dead at his residence

The victim's wife had left the house to stay with her parents over constant fights.

Hyderabad: An Armed Reserve (AR) sub-inspector from Narketpally, Nalgonda was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his residence on Saturday. According to the Narketpally police, Ramavat Chandrunayak, 57, was residing in Ramnagar colony, Yellareddyguda in Narketpally and had six daughters from his first wife.

“After the demise of his first wife eight years ago, he married Lalitha and had one son from her. However, the couple used to constantly have disputes over trivial matters,” sources said, adding that Lalitha had also left the house to stay with her parents following her fight with Chandrunayak.

Chandrunayak was working as the AR sub- inspector for the 12th battalion in Anaparthi. According to the police, he was supposed to check in for work on Friday but failed to show up.

“His co-workers tried to contact him on his mobile phone but in vain. Later on Friday evening, when his colleagues came to check upon him, he was found dead on his bed with foam covered mouth" police said.

However, his daughters are alleging murder and are suspecting their step-mother, Lalitha. “Based on a complaint received from his eldest daughter, Padma, a case was booked and an investigation was started,” added the official.
