Rowdy Suresh Poojary's killing: Two held, more to follow

It is said that a former BBMP corporator's brother-in-law is also involved in the murder and the police are also investigating that angle.

Bengaluru: Jayanagar police have arrested two people in connection with the murder of notorious rowdy-sheeter-turned realtor Suresh Poojary (41) alias Golden Suresh, who was found murdered in his apartment in Jayanagar 7th block on Wednesday.

The police have arrested Rakesh Gowda, a small-time realtor and Suresh, a used car dealer, and they suspect the involvement of more people in the crime. The police are interrogating the accused to get the clear picture.

DCP South Dr Sharanappa said the accused confessed to having killed Poojary over financial dispute. “During the interrogation, Rakesh told us that Poojary took around Rs 4 crore from him in the last couple of years promising to return him double the amount. As years passed, he started asking Poojary to return his money, but he did not,” Dr Sharanappa said. One day Poojary told him that he won’t be returning the money and even asked him if he had any documents which showed that he took money from him. Angered by his changed behaviour, Rakesh along with Suresh and others hatched a plan to kill him,” Dr Sharanappa added.

On Wednesday, Poojary’s body was found in a sack in his apartment. The incident came to light after his sister came to check on him. She had made repeated calls to Poojary, but they went unanswered.

She found the door locked. When she called him again, she realized that her brother’s mobile phone was ringing inside the house. Sensing something amiss, she had informed the police.
