Four killed in mishap at Shamshabad
Hyderabad: Four persons including a biker were killed in an accident at Shamshabad on Thursday. The mishap occurred when a speeding truck coming towards Hyderabad rammed a parked bike and truck.
Police said the parked truck had stopped for directions from the biker and the truck behind hit them. Police, said a truck from TN was parked on the road near Simplex Junction. Driver Shekar got down and was inquiring about the route with biker Shaikh Abdul Moinuddin. Lorry helper Srinivas was sitting in the vehicle.
Meanwhile, another truck loaded with carrots was heading to the spot. There were five passengers in the cabin along with the driver. “The driver did not see the parked truck, rammed it and the biker,” airport police station inspector T. Sudhakar said.
The biker, Shaikh Abdul Nazeem, 32, and two passengers in the carrot truck, G. Somashekar, 38, and A. Chinna Mareppa, 46, and the first truck’s cleaner Srinivas, 55, died on the spot. The other two passengers, the driver and another driver escaped with minor injuries.
A case for causing death through negligence was registered and the bodies were handed over to the families after post-mortem.
