Hyderabad: The Cyberabad SOT raided a construction site in Shivarampally after receiving reports of explosives being used without permission. Three workers were arrested and 149 gelatin sticks and 129 electronic detonators were seized. One person is absconding, police said.
According to police the construction site is located near Pillar #254 on the PVNR Expressway in Shivarampally village. The workers were carrying out blastings at the site using gelatin sticks and detonators. After receiving credible information police raided the site owned by one Narender Reddy.
“There was no permission to conduct blasts at the site under hazardous conditions,” SOT inspector E. Srinivas Reddy said, adding that the police is investigating the role of the landowner and the builder in using explosives without permission.
The three workers and the seized gelatin sticks and detonators were handed over to the Rajendranagar police for investigation.
