HYDERABAD: Nine-year-old Afsana Ahmed, the elder daughter of an Assam native migrant worker working in the dump yard in Bhongir town was crushed to death by a garbage lifting tractor-trolley on Thursday. Her sister Mehnoor, 3, escaped with minor injuries. The incident happened when the trolley driver identified as Suresh was reversing the vehicle and run over Afsana. Bhongir town police of Rachakonda commissionerate registered a case against Suresh and detained him.
Ashraw Ali belonging to Assam, his wife Kanchan Ahmed, along with their two daughters Afsana Ahmed and Mehnoor, migrated to Bhongir for livelihood. They have been working at the Bhongir town municipal dump yard on daily wages and staying on the dump yard premises. On Thursday morning, Suresh came to the dump yard to dump the garbage.
