Hyderabad: A Class X student who returned home from school was petrified at the sight of her 13-year-old younger sister hanging to the fan on the ceiling in their house at KPHB on Thursday. Rebba Sharvani herself made the first attempt to rescue her sister Sai Shivani by bringing her down, but in vain. Sravani claimed that a ribbon was tied to her sister’s wrists while she was hanging to the ceiling with a chunni.
Sravani and Sai Sivani were daughters of Gangadhar and Jyoti. While the girls were studying in a private school, the couple worked for different private organiSations in the city.
While SSC classes are in progress for Sravani, Sivani was on vacation and at home. On Sunday, after Sravani left for her classes and their parents left for work, Sivani was alone at home. Around 2pm, when Sravani retur-ned home, she found Sivani hanging in her room. When Savani could not bring her down on her own, she sought the help of a few neighbours who brought her down and rushed her to a nearby private hospital, but was declared brought dead.
“We suspect the parents’ frequent quarrells had an effect on the child. The probe is on exploring other angles as well. The ribbon on the girl’s wrists as claimed by her sister is also being probed,” said cops.
