Bengaluru: Techie suspects affair, wife hangs herself
Bengaluru: Dejected after husband allegedly suspected her of infidelity, a 30-year-old woman hanged herself from the ceiling of her residence in Bhuvaneshwari Nagar in CK Achukattu police limits on Sunday night.
The deceased, Tulasi, who was from Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh, was allegedly depressed after her husband Vijay Kiran (35), who is from Prakasam district of Andhra, allegedly harassed her on suspicion that she had an affair with another man.
Vijay, a software engineer with a reputed MNC, got married to Tulasi four years ago and shifted to Bengaluru. Of late, the couple fought frequently as Vijay started suspecting Tulasi of an affair.
On Sunday too, the couple fought around 10.30 pm. Vijay told the police that he went out for a walk as he did not want to continue the fight. When he returned, he found the bedroom door locked from inside and Tulasi did not open the door even after he begged her for forgiveness. Later, when he peeped from under the door, he found a shadow on the floor. Vijay then broke open the door and found Tulasi hanging from the ceiling, the police said. Vijay rushed Tulasi to Yogananda Hospital in an auto, but doctors declared her brought dead.
The case was reported at the CK Achukattu police station on Monday morning and the police went to the spot and detained Vijay after shifting the body to the nearby hospital for postmortem.
"We are waiting for the postmortem report to ascertain the cause of death and establish the role of Vijay in Tulasi's death," the police said.
