Hyderabad: Mom, son die after fight
Hyderabad: A family dispute over an illegal relationship led to the death of a woman and her son, while her daughter-in-law was injured.
Police said the family of Harijan Yellamma, 50, owned a three-acre agricultural land in Han-mapur in Peddemul mandal. Her son Krishna caught her in a compromising position with one Naresh, a local.
On Saturday morning, village elders held a panchayat during which Yellamma claimed that Naresh was a thief who had stolen some articles from her home. Naresh however said they were in a relationship, and that she had called him ome. Naresh paid Rs10,000 for the stolen articles.
When they returned home, Yellamma picked up an argument with her daughter-in-law Bujjamma. She poured kerosene on her self and threatened to set herself on fire. Krishna also followed suit. Yellamma alleged, in her dying statement, that Krishna had thrown a lighted match on her. Both of them were burnt to death.
