Hyderabad techie held for harassing woman over broken marriage alliance
Hyderabad: A 40-year-old software engineer based in the UK was arrested on Friday for allegedly harassing a doctor to marry him. Police said N. Ashok Kumar, a resident of Narayanguda had returned to India for marriage.
In the course of searching for brides, Kumar, 40, struck a relationship with the doctor.
"They both exchanged their contact numbers and mail Ids and were close for some time," stated a release from Hyderabad Police.
But they separated soon after due to differences. He then began harassing her and sending abusive messages and mails, police said.
"He became possessive and started harassing her and her family members. As he could not bear the separation, he bore a grudge against the woman and her family members and had been continuously abusing and harassing her," stated the release.
According to police, Kumar also created an email ID in the victim's name and started sending vulgur emails and messages to her relatives, her colleagues and friends, police said.
Following a complaint, a case was registered against Kumar and he was arrested after investigation, police added.
